Press release: AdLINK posts record sales and earnings for FY 2005

Montabaur, March 23, 2006. The Management Board of today announced its final financial results for the fiscal year 2005. The figures show record levels of both sales and earnings.

Consolidated sales of more than doubled in 2005. They grew by 106% from € 47.79 million in 2004 to € 98.26 million in 2005. Owing to this strong growth in sales, the company was also able to report a very positive development in earnings: EBITDA improved from € 0.3 million in the previous year to € 6.5 million, while a negative EBT result of € -3.9 million in 2004 was turned into a positive result of € 3.6 million in 2005.

“The growth and profitability of our acquisitions affilinet and Sedo already helped boost key figures in their first year. At the same time, we laid the foundation for a successful future with various structural measures and a reassessment of those national subsidiaries in our traditional marketing business which are still not turning profits. We aim to continue this positive development in fiscal year 2006 and achieve growth in sales and earnings (before minority interests) of over 60% and over 200%, respectively”, says Guy Challen, CFO of .

“2005 was a successful financial year for our company and a year of strategic expansion and restructuring for our business fields. We have now realigned our business and given it a wider strategic base: in our traditional Display Advertising business field, we have developed a new concept aimed at enhancing our success with the company’s most important business partners – major website owners and advertisers. With the acquisition of Sedo and affilinet we have also successfully positioned ourselves in the fast growing segments of Domain Marketing and Affiliate Marketing”, states Marc Stilke, Speaker of the AdLINK Group’s Management Board.

In addition to its excellent financial figures, also posted strong growth in its key market figures: in Display Marketing the number of monthly page impressions rose by 37% to 5.6 billion, while unique visitors grew by 26% to 69.6 million/month. In the Domain Marketing segment, the number of marketable domains increased by 95% to 780,000. Domains available for purchase grew by 88% to 3 million. In the Affiliate Marketing segment, there was growth of 53% in the number of affiliate websites to 290,000 and of 29% in affiliate programs to 774.

And with the acquisition of CibleClick, the French market leader in Affiliate Marketing, in December 2005, we are now represented in Europe’s three leading e-commerce and online advertising markets.

2005 also saw a generally positive development of our markets as a whole. This was due to two main factors: firstly an increase in the overall volume of European advertising, and secondly an increase in the proportion of advertising spend dedicated to online advertising. We believe this development can be attributed primarily to the increased acceptance of online advertising among advertisers themselves and to the growing efficiency of the internet as an advertising medium. According to all major market research institutes, these effects are set to continue in the coming years.

With our clear strategic alignment in the segments Display Marketing, Domain Marketing and Affiliate Marketing, our mixture of performance-based and branding-based advertising formats and our strong international positioning, we aim to use the positive development of the online advertising market to achieve further above-average growth. “For 2006 we plan to reach sales of € 160 million and an EBT before minority interests of € 12 million”, says Stéphane Cordier, CEO of .
