acquires United Internet investments in affilinet and Sedo

Montabaur, April 25, 2005. , Montabaur, has acquired the investments of United Internet AG, Montabaur, in affilinet GmbH (shareholding: 100 percent) and Sedo GmbH (shareholding: 51.07 percent). In fiscal year 2004, the two companies generated sales of EUR 26.7 million and an EBT of EUR 4.3 million. United Internet is to provide finance for the purchase price of around EUR 30 million at standard market conditions. AdLINK (United Internet shareholding: 82.44 percent) will thus become Europe’s leading provider of online marketing services. Marc Stilke, currently responsible for the Online Marketing segment of United Internet, is to be appointed as a further member of the Executive Board of .

"The sale means that our entire activities in the Online Marketing segment are now managed by ,” says Ralph Dommermuth, CEO of United Internet AG. "affilinet and Sedo will gain access to AdLINK’s pan-European sales organization and advertising client base, making their own international expansion even more effective.” In the coming years, online advertising is expected to account for a significantly higher proportion of total advertising spending.
